Built by people who understand how organisations work.
Mitochondria brings together operations, behavioural science, communication, data engineering, and AI deployment. We understand what makes workflow change hard, and the rational caution of teams who have watched transformation projects arrive and leave. We build to close that gap.
Mitochondria was founded by Nikita Vhora and Sushrut Munje after more than a decade each across operations, behavioural science, communication, growth, and strategy. Through BCS, they worked with more than 60 organisations, from pre-launch to enterprise, and saw first-hand how decisions and adoption play out within them.
That background shapes the company. We understand how and where unofficial workflows live, how decisions get made, why teams may resist systems they do not trust, and what it takes for a new technology to earn adoption rather than compliance.
The team is senior and multi-disciplinary, every part leading its own work at full strength. The engineering has built and scaled production AI in regulated industries across the UK, the Netherlands, and India, where uptime is contractual and systems answer to regulatory scrutiny. AI engineering and solution architecture is led by an MSc from TU Delft, six years deep in conversational AI and RAG-based multi-agent systems at enterprise scale. Product and delivery is led by an MSc from USC, twelve years founding and scaling SaaS products across adtech, real estate, edtech, and eCommerce. Data engineering is led by an MSc, cum laude, from the University of Amsterdam, built inside two of the city's leading financial institutions.
The products take their shape from the people and the business that use them, rather than the other way round, and the front-end carries that across the whole suite, from the customer-facing web and commerce to the enterprise platform. Design is led at director level across brand and editorial work, and the experience of the products in use is held by a dedicated custodian.
Most of us were trained in research disciplines, and it shows in how we argue. Positions are held to evidence and revised when the evidence changes.
We publish what we are working out, and at length. We test whether an idea holds through R&D, iterations, and active feedback loops.
We do not force-fit AI. Recognising where a technology does not belong is part of the job, and we follow a consultative approach.
Operations, behavioural science, communication and engineering sit in the same room and argue in the same meetings. We hire across those boundaries on purpose.
We are lean and hands-on. Every discipline here is led by someone senior enough to be accountable and close enough to be doing the work.
We build for adoption and the conditions of month twelve, when the novelty has worn off and the system either holds or it does not.
